Climate Bench

Norway

In collaboration with Dario Jessen

We 3d-scanned the trunks to customize the design to the different sizes of the timber. This process will minimize the wood leftover, but also helps us to compute the approximate amount of required wood.We chose to use a modified version of the Butterfly-joint wich allows us to join blocks, while keeping a little distance betweeen them at the same time. The joint also crates a playful pattern on the top of the bench. The picture above, shows an test modell of this joint, created with the robotic arm at a workshop of the NTNU.
